2019 Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s

In today’s episode, we take a look at the Brand New 2019 Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s guitar that was released April 29th, 2019. These were touted as the models that would turn Gibson around. Standards are standards again without weight relief! No more fancy electronics, just standard pots.

The 60s version features a slimmer neck profile than the 50s Standard. It also features gold, top hat “reflector” knobs and Grover Tuners.

The bridge is not a real ABR-1 as it is not drilled directly into the top, but uses a post similar to the old Nashville style. These have a short neck tenon as well so all historic owners have nothing to worry about since the historic line up will have that over these models.

I enjoyed this guitar. Gibson still needs to step up their Quality Control game, but when you get a good one – these are great! I would recommend trying one out!

  1. Sweet guitar man I would say it’s worth the money … please let all of us know if you have any new info on Mark Agnese !! Thanks Trogly

  2. I bought one on June 16 that was made on May 15. Love the smell. 🙂 I love it. I looked up reviews and found yours and I just want to thank you for a very nice review. I appreciate the time you put into it.

  3. Trogly can you please demo another one of these 1960s Gibson Les Paul‘s because I would really be interested in buying it if you get one with very good flame like this one ! and in this color burst, But first I would love for you to model the guitar in a video first so I know what I’m getting 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

  4. Hey! Great videos and really like this one in particular since been looking to get my first LP and there’s so many variations. What’s ur opinion on this one versus “Gibson Custom Historic 1960 Les Paul Standard VOS?” And is it worth the money? Was offered one for $4500 but i see them listed around 6-7g! Ouch. But they seem to have the additional specs u said the other doesn’t. I’m really just learning about LP differences and appreciate ur knowledge on them. Don’t mind investing more if it’s great quality and sound and something that I’ll never get rid of and pass it down the blood line. Thank you.

  5. I just picked up this model and color 2 weeks ago. I love it. Had a short in it.. Was a loose wire in the switch. All fixed and so sweet.
