Description
SC-550 Epiphone Scroll
This was in rough shape when I first got it, but it just underwent a full clean and polish and is looking much better now! Your fingers will likely turn black while playing for a bit until all the buffing compound is worn off from the fret polish job
- dings/scratches throughout (see photos/video)
- truss rod is stiff, but was able to give it a quarter turn
- there are some “dead” frets on the upper registers of the neck on the lowe/a/d string, likely due to high frets/leveling issues. You can play ~95% of the guitar just fine
- there are marks on the frets up and down the whole board. This would be cured with a full level/recrown. I was able to play the guitar just fine as-is withou them impacting much
- the top frets don’t reach the end of the neck
- mild cracks in the treble side binding that rust from the tuner encroached upon
- one of the top mother of pearl inlays has a crack in it
- a piece of finish by the neck is coming loose. Don’t pick at it and you’ll be fine – it isn’t ultra brittle
- the bridge is warped on the leg. Works ok as-is, but you have to remove the posts if you need to remove it.
- serial sticker is worn
I don’t have a case, but it will be packed well. This is sold as-is. Light project, or enjoy it as-is at home. Stock pickups sound surprisingly good!
