Description
The Case…
This guitars comes with its original Gibson Zakk Wylde Signature hardshell case with the bullseye graphic on the outside of it. The case is quite scratched up from storage and the lining on the top of the case by the headstock has come unglued. The combo lock has not been set and the case is free from any over powering odors and all latches are functioning.
The Guitar! 9lbs 3oz, Medium C Neck
This is a unique piece! Gibson made 100 ZV Bullseye and 50 ZV Buzzsaws guitars in 2008 but this one is confirmed by Gibson to have left the factory in the Gunmetal Grey finish in 2009 despite the 2008 serial number. It could be a runoff… custom order, “prototype/pilot run” to take the model public or maybe even a warranty replacement. I don’t have the full story, nor does Gibson. All I know is it is very unique! The graphic ones are cool, but very flashy – this tames it down just a hair while still being exotic. This isn’t “technically” a Zakk Wylde signature model because it doesn’t have a natural neck with Zakk silhouette on the back so I’d imagine it is one of very few “regular” Gibson SGVs ever created. If you own a similar one in a custom color, please reach out!
This guitar was quite filthy when it arrived, but after a cleaning it is actually quite nice. It has polishing swirls, light picking scratches, typical finish dings on the pointy extremities and a few minor dings/impressions here or there and a few stray marks/scratches on the back (check the video to see it in real time.) All things considered, it is in very good condition for its age. As is common on mid-2000s models, this has the fretnib gaps and lacquer line along the neck as well as lacquer sink into the 3-piece neck, along join lines etc. Truss rod functions perfectly in both directions
