Description
The Case…
This guitar comes in an era-correct Gibson Hardshell case. All latches are present and functioning and relatively speaking, it is in good shape for its age but does show some scuffs/minor tolex chips here and there. It has a moth-balls scent to it
The Guitar! 60s Neck 10lbs 1oz
This is a great version of a Cherry Sunburst Les Paul KM! It was originally one of the ones adorned with a Custom Made plaque, but it was removed and lost so someone installed an ES-335 style one on it. There are many touch ups on the back of the guitar primarily on the cherry edge. The finish on the neck has been played in giving it closer to a satin feel and there is some finish wear on the edges of the neck. It was refretted at some point and a new nut installed. The job was good, but I’d suggest a fresh level/recrown as there are a few buzzy frets due to marginally high frets (I noticed 4-5.) It is likely just fine for a bedroom player as-is, but a pro player might consider the level/crown. A washer has been added under the truss rod – it works well as-is.
Electronics are untouched – still has the stock double cream Ttop pickups. Strap buttons are schaller strap locks.
Besides the frets, nut, one screw on truss rod cover, plaque+screws and strap buttons – it is original.
This example has some nice wood grain + flame and sounds quite phenomenal.
