The Case…
This guitar comes in the pictured 1990s Gibson Brown Case with pink case shroud. The combo lock is unset and all latches are present and functioning. If you’d prefer a Gen 3 Chainsaw case (metal latches) w/ blue interior that is missing the Gibson badge just let me at check out and I can swap the cases.
The Guitar!
This is one of the nicest Heritage 80 Elite tops I’ve seen! The bubbly quilt top is quite active and this one oozes player vibe.
The pickups are original Tim Shaw PAFs that have had their covers removed. The bridge measures 8.5k ohms so it is possible it was rewound or it is just hotter than usual. All plastics have been replaced one this guitar. I have a suspicion someone tried to make this more “59” by upgrading the plastics and wiring/pots. The pots date to the 90s. The bridge, pickups, tuners and truss rod cover are about the only original bits left. Truss rod has plenty of life left with minimal threads sticking out. Frets show little wear and your personal set up is encouraged, but plays well with low action as-is.
Condition-wise, there is a touch-up spot on the back and play wear/scratches throughout.
PLEASE VIEW THE ATTACHED VIDEO for a full rundown on the condition if that is important to you. This was played.
There is finish checking in the headstock break area, but I don’t see any repair or broken finish. The binding has the typical crack lines by the frets – I noticed one area where the binding chipped.
